About Us

Our Mission

The mission of CAFE is to educate, engage and empower the public on issues that concern sustainability and the environment in the North Coast region of California. Among issues of principal concern are:         Land use         Transit planning         Public energy infrastructure         Building codes         Water use and conservation         Local economic development         Social equity         Local agricultural preservation         Forest and wetlands protection         Housing affordability CAFE carries out its mission through a variety of focused programs, including: Hands-on workshops and public forums Development and dissemination of instructional and    informational materials and kits Participation in community planning activities in areas of concern Door-to-door contacts with local residents

Our Board of Directors and Staff

Una Glass Mayor of Sebastopol, Executive Direct CA Coastwalk, and long time community organizer. Chris Grabill Community engagement organizer around social and environmental justice issues, specifically the balance between affordable housing and natural resources. Michael Allen Michael has had an extensive career as a registered nurse, lawyer and then labor and environmental leader right here in the North Bay. Chelsey Kolbeck As Community Engagement Director of The Arlene Francis Center for Spirit, Art, and Politics, she works to promote individual creativity, collaborative partnerships, and civic participation.  With a background as a paralegal, foster advocate, Waldorf educator, biodynamic farmer, creative strategist, and mixed-media designer, she is inspired by the intersection of culture, politics, and spirituality.  Founding member of the Another World is Possible Coalition, she is devoted to the fostering of cross-pollination and integration of the many diverse efforts throughout the North Bay to ensure a healthy, just, and resilient community. Dennis Rosatti, Executive Director Board President of Harmony Union School Board; Executive Director, Conservation Action Fund for Education; Member of Sierra Club Political Committee, Sonoma Group; former Appointed Member of Sonoma County Fish and Wildlife Commission, 5th District
