Recent CAFE Grantors

Schulz Fund, Sonoma County Community Foundation A grant to fund work providing education to the public of Sonoma and Marin Counties on the benefits of transit and transit oriented development (TOD). Also supported work on the SMART Train and Trail campaign. Rose Foundation, Northern California Environmental Grassroots Fund A grant to promote transit oriented development around the SMART Rail and Trail station sites in Sonoma and Marin Counties; to engage, educate, and activate residents in the Santa Rosa General Plan update process; and to hold public forums and sustainability workshops. Hewlett Foundation (through the Bay Area Great Communities Collaborative) An initial grant to support person to person, grassroots outreach and education to residents in Santa Rosa concerning the Downtown Santa Rosa Station Area Plan process. The primary goal was community engagement and education for overlooked or unengaged constituencies on the SAP process, and to encourage and facilitate their involvement.     A second year grant to continue outreach to underserved constituencies on the Downtown Santa Rosa Station Area Plan process. This grant also supported continuing outreach to residents identified during year one, to keep them informed and involved in the SAP process.     A third year grant to monitor implementation of the Downtown Santa Rosa Station Area Plan, and encourage it's usage by the public and governmental planners and planning agencies operating in Santa Rosa and the North Bay. Fledgling Fund     A grant of general support for CAFE's programs and activities. Funding was utilized to support public education on the benefits of transit and transit oriented development, as well as for general support of CAFE.
